Season 14 of the Great British Bake Off (or the Great British Baking Show in the US) premiers September 29 on Netflix and lovers of bucolic b-roll of the English countryside and amateur bakers alike are clutching their bundt pans in excitement. There’s a lot to look forward to this season—who will get the first handshake from Paul? Which bake will Prue deem a stodgy mess?
Bake Off fans will notice a few changes this season. Namely, Matt Lucas, the controversial and somewhat awkward cohost to Noel Fielding, will no longer appear on the show. He’ll be replaced by Allison Hammond, who is perhaps the most charming British TV personality in existence. Also, the show will no longer feature nation-themed weeks after the series faced critical backlash in reaction to last season’s so-called “Mexico Week,” in which hosts appeared in ponchos and contestants repeatedly mispronounced words like guacamole and pico de gallo.
But some parts of Bake Off stay comfortingly the same as always. The Bon Appétit staff’s biggest Bake Off fans have put together a bingo card featuring a few of the Bake Off-iest moments that we look forward to every season. Keep an eye out for baking mishaps and closeups of bakers’ hands drawing wobbly lines of icing, and if you’re the first to call bingo you’ll win a mysterious and fabulous prize (bragging rights and the title of star Bingo-er).
