Samsung is said to have updated its second-gen smart tracker to premium ultra-wide band (UWB) connectivity and a larger, possibly more user-friendly, form-factor. Its latest leak purports to confirm this design change as well as an approximate date for the accessory’s launch. The “Galaxy SmartTag 2” is now also slated to come in limited color SKUs and multi-pack options on its debut.

The Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 2’s new and allegedly more (albeit button-deficient) car key-like build has now popped up once again along with a putative launch window, courtesy of Mobile Fun.

The UK company is an online electronics store as well as a blog, and, thus, purports to list the SKUs intended for the European market in advance. The new pre-sales page suggests that the SmartTag 2 is coming to the region in white or black, which might limit its multi-buy options somewhat.

Nevertheless, the tag’s previously spoiled UWB+Bluetooth spec apparently does not come cheap, as it is apparently set to start at £42.99/€51.99 (~US$56) each, with a 2-pack going for £69.99/€89.99 (~US$97), only due to a 22% introductory discount off a full ~US$117 price. Alternatively, a 4-pack with 2 of each color is listed at a full price of £129.99/€155.99 (~US$168).

Mobile Fun projects that the Galaxy SmartTag2 is “due in stock in 2 months“, thereby hinting that it will launch in October 2023.
