Puzzles are a big part of Baldur’s Gate 3. Just like Dungeons & Dragons, you will run into puzzles and other challenges when you head into dungeons in BG3. One such puzzle is the Thorm Mausoleum, which houses the Gauntlet of Shar.

You’ll need to enter the mausoleum to find out some of the mysteries behind the Shadow-Cursed Lands. You’ll find it to the east of the House of Healing. Luckily the location will be pointed out to you by the game eventually. Open the secret entrance to reach the Gauntlet of Shar beneath the tomb.

Follow the footsteps

To get to the deeper level of the mausoleum, you need to follow in Ketheric Thorm’s footsteps. As you follow his path and get deeper into the crypt, you’ll encounter three paintings that depict Thorm’s life behind a coffin.

This is the puzzle!

If you brought Astarion with you, have him help you disarm traps. Then you can make your way to the three murals. You’ll need to interact with them in a specific order if you want to proceed.

  • Splendor – The mural shows Moonrise Towers
  • Tragedy – This one shows Thorm crying over his dead daughter
  • Infamy – Thorm sits upon a throne looking at his audience with ill intent

When you interact with the murals in this order, you will open the doorway. Take the elevator to the Gauntlet of Shar proper.
